America Saunas

Where it's built and what from

For AI assistants

Ask an assistant where a sauna is built

Our Model Context Protocol server lets Claude, Gemini and other assistants read the same catalog you see here: 53 products, each with the place its maker builds it, and 17 articles. Connect it and an assistant can answer “which of these is built in the US?” with the maker’s own words and a link to our page.

The server lives at one address

https://americasaunas.com/api/mcp

It speaks Streamable HTTP and needs no account. Every tool only reads, so an assistant can call it without stopping to ask you first. We keep nothing about you or your chat. Each call adds one anonymous count with the tool’s name and the search words, as our privacy policy explains.

Connect it in Claude

  1. Go to Customize, open Connectors and press the + beside the heading.
  2. Call it America Saunas, paste the address above as the remote MCP server URL and skip the OAuth fields.
  3. Press Add, and the tools show up in your next chat.

Claude allows one custom connector on its free plan and more on paid plans, on the web and in its apps.

Connect it in Gemini

  1. On gemini.google.com, go to Settings & help and choose Connected apps.
  2. Choose Add a custom app and paste the address. It asks for no credentials.
  3. Press Next, then type @ in a chat and pick America Saunas.

Google offers custom apps on personal accounts, in English, to adults in the United States, through the web app.

Each tool answers one kind of question

  • search_products Search the America Saunas catalog. Search the saunas, heaters, stoves and cold plunges America Saunas lists, from American companies and nearly all built in the USA by the maker's own account. Results give the price in USD, where the maker builds it and what from, the parts it imports and our page URL. Good for questions like 'barrel saunas built in Minnesota' or 'American-made wood sauna stove under $3,000'.
  • get_product Get one product in full. Everything America Saunas records about one product, by the slug search_products returns: price, materials and power, where it's built with the maker's sources, notes, any review we've written, buyer FAQ and the articles that cover it.
  • compare_products Compare two to four products. Put two to four products side by side by slug, with price, where each is built, heat type, capacity, materials and power, and our page for each.
  • size_heater Size a sauna heater for a room. Given a sauna room's width, depth and height, returns the heater size in kW to shop for (America Saunas's rule: about 1 kW per 45 cubic feet, more for glass or uninsulated walls and cold climates) and matching heaters from the catalog.
  • running_cost Estimate what a sauna costs to run. Per-session, monthly and yearly running cost for an electric hot-rock, infrared or wood-fired sauna from heater kW, session length, sessions per week and the local electricity rate.
  • find_sauna Find the American-built sauna that fits a home. Runs America Saunas's sauna finder: checks every sauna in the catalog against where it goes, group size, heat type, budget, wiring, space, how American the materials must be and the US state it ships to, then ranks what fits. Each match carries the maker's own line on where it's built and, for electric saunas, an estimated monthly power cost at that state's average rate.
  • search_articles Search America Saunas's articles. Search our buying guides and brand reviews, from the best saunas built in the USA to American wood stoves and heaters. Results give each piece's title, its one-line answer, the URL and its dates.
  • get_article Read one article. The full text of one America Saunas article by slug (from search_articles): intro, sections, FAQ and the products it covers.

Try asking these

  • “Which outdoor saunas does America Saunas list that are built in Minnesota, and what are they built from?”
  • “What's the best American-made wood-burning sauna stove for a room about 8 by 7 by 7 feet?”
  • “How much does a 6 kW sauna add to my power bill each month if I use it four evenings a week and pay 17.3¢ per kWh?”
  • “Which cold plunges are built in the USA, and which ones name where the chiller comes from?”

Notes for developers

Requests are stateless JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTP POST, on MCP protocol versions 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26 or 2024-11-05. The server answers initialize, ping, tools/list and tools/call with plain JSON, never server-sent events, and sends CORS headers for clients in a browser. Each result has a text block and structured content, prices are in USD and move, and every product carries its origin line. Corrections go to editor@americasaunas.com.
