Who still builds the American sauna?
More shops than you'd guess. We list 30 of them, from a stove works on Minnesota's Iron Range to a cooperage in Anchorage that builds its barrels from Alaskan spruce. Each listing names the town and the wood, and says which parts came from abroad, which is usually the heater.

Each pin sits where the maker says it builds. When a maker names only its office, the pin marks the office and the card says so. Ice Barrel names no state, so the map leaves it off.
