Before you order
This page gathers what Almost Heaven publishes about the Hinton, checked Oct 10, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install. Our verdict on it runs in Almost Heaven sauna review: are the West Virginia barrels worth it?.
Who should buy the Hinton?
The Hinton suits someone who wants an infrared cedar room for two or three, built in the US, that plugs into the wall. Almost Heaven builds it in Renick, West Virginia, around five far- and near-infrared panels, and it ships in two to three weeks.
The Auburn is the same cabin with a 6 kW heater and stones for about $2,300 less, if you can run a 240V circuit. TheraSauna's TS5951, built in Iowa, seats two with ten ceramic emitters.
What does it take to install?
The cabin stands about 70 inches wide, 47 deep and 78 tall, and it sits on your existing hard floor. It needs a dedicated 120V outlet. Almost Heaven's product page says 20 amps and its manual says 15, so ask which applies and wire for the higher one if you're unsure.
What does the Hinton cost all in?

| Dedicated 120V outlet | Electrician's quote | If there isn't a free one near the spot |

Almost Heaven doesn't publish the panels' wattage or the cabin's top temperature, so ask for both before you compare it with another infrared room.

What to know before you buy
Cedar, full-spectrum, 120V dedicated. These decide whether it suits your space and your electrical panel.
- CedarCedar resists rot and insects naturally, and it's aromatic. It conducts heat poorly, so the benches stay cool enough to sit on in a hot room.
- Full-SpectrumA full-spectrum cabin gives you the widest wavelength coverage you can buy, since it adds near and mid infrared to far infrared in one room.
- 120V Dedicated CircuitThis model plugs in at 120V on a circuit of its own, through a heavier-duty outlet than a standard wall socket. If your home doesn't have one, an electrician adds the circuit and the outlet.
