Before you order
This page gathers what Almost Heaven publishes about the Auburn, checked Oct 10, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install. Our verdict on it runs in Almost Heaven sauna review: are the West Virginia barrels worth it?.
Who should buy the Auburn?
The Auburn suits two or three people with a spare corner indoors, a hard floor and a budget under $5,000. Almost Heaven builds it in Renick, West Virginia, from red cedar it sources in the Northwest and Canada, and its 6 kW Harvia KIP takes the room to 194°F (90°C), the maker says.
Finnleo's NorthStar costs about twice as much and comes with a dealer to set it up. Almost Heaven's Hinton is the same cabin with infrared panels in place of the heater.
What does it take to install?
The cabin stands about 70 inches wide, 47 deep and 78 tall, and it sits on your existing hard floor. The heater hardwires to a 240V, 30-amp breaker, and the light plugs into a separate 110V outlet. It ships in six to eight weeks.

What to know before you buy
Cedar, electric, 240V hardwired. These decide whether it suits your space and your electrical panel.
- CedarCedar resists rot and insects naturally, and it's aromatic. It conducts heat poorly, so the benches stay cool enough to sit on in a hot room.
- ElectricAn electric heater holds a steady temperature on its thermostat and needs no chimney. Many models add app or timer control.
- 240V HardwiredA hardwired model needs a dedicated 240V circuit installed by an electrician. Build roughly $600–$2,500 into your total budget for it.
