Who should buy the North Woods stove?
The North Woods stove suits a sauna tent or a tiny room of up to 65 square feet, for a buyer who wants an American-made stove for a few hundred dollars. North Woods Fabrication welds it from 1/16- and 1/8-inch steel and lists its business in Fairmont, Minnesota. At 25 pounds it travels.
For a permitted building, buy a listed stove such as Kuuma's Classic Legacy. Nippa's smallest Legacy suits a small permanent room.
What does it take to install?
The stove is 20 inches tall, 10 wide and 17 deep, and it burns logs up to 17 inches. It vents through 4-inch pipe and carries no safety listing, as the maker says itself. Keep it to a tent, or a building where your county doesn't require a listed stove.
