Before you order
This page gathers what Scandia publishes about the Ultra Medium, checked Oct 10, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install.
Who should buy the Ultra Medium?
Pick the Ultra Medium for a room of about 200 to 616 cubic feet, sized by Scandia's ratings: 6 kW up to 294, 7.5 kW up to 448 and 9 kW up to 616. It's the electric sauna heater to buy if you want one made in the US.
For a two-person room under 210 cubic feet, the Ultra Small is cheaper. For a wood fire, look at Kuuma's Classic.
What does it take to install?
An electrician hardwires it with its separate control box. At 240V the 6 kW draws 25 amps, the 7.5 kW 31.3 and the 9 kW 37.5, per Scandia, so the circuit grows with the heater. Scandia sells 208V versions too, which draw more current.
What does the Ultra Medium cost all in?
| Cost | Amount | Where the figure comes from |
|---|---|---|
| List price | $1,300–$1,750 | The regular price at Scandia, recorded Oct 10, 2026. |
| 240V circuit | Electrician's quote | Sized to the heater's draw |
| Sauna stones | Included | Scandia ships rocks with the heater |
The $1,300 to $1,750 price includes the control box and the stones, so the electrician is the main cost you add.
