Before you order
This page gathers what Nippa publishes about the Legacy, checked Oct 10, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install. Our verdict on it runs in Nippa sauna stove review: the Legacy Series costs less than a Kuuma for the same room.
Who should buy the Legacy?
The Legacy suits a wood-fired room of 400 to 1,000 cubic feet and a buyer who'd rather spend less than a Kuuma costs. Nippa builds it in Beulah, Michigan, from what it calls American steel, and it burns coal or coke as well as wood.
If your county wants a current UL 1482 listing, buy Kuuma's Classic Legacy. North Woods Fabrication's $540 stove makes more sense for a small room or a cabin.
What does it take to install?
Every Legacy is 18.5 inches wide and 28 tall, and the four sizes weigh 192 to 248 pounds. The manual wants 36 inches to unprotected walls at the sides and back, 14 to a protected wall and 48 in front. It vents through a 6-inch flue into a lined masonry or approved insulated chimney.
What does the Legacy cost all in?
| Cost | Amount | Where the figure comes from |
|---|---|---|
| List price | $1,699–$2,599 | The regular price at Nippa, recorded Oct 10, 2026. |
| Body rock surround | $250 | Holds stone around the stove |
| Stovepipe rock surround | $300 | A steel cage of stone around the flue |
| Chimney | Varies | Masonry or approved insulated prefab, sold separately |
| Pallet packaging | $100 | Nippa's charge for a palletized stove |
By our math, a WB-24 with both rock surrounds comes to $3,149 before the chimney, the stones and freight.
This guide draws on Nippa's Legacy Series page, its Legacy manual and its posted test reports, read Oct 10, 2026.

What to know before you buy
Wood-burning, steel. These decide whether it suits your space and your electrical panel.
- Wood-FiredA log stove heats the room, so the sauna runs fully off-grid and the crackling fire becomes part of the ritual. Fans of wood heat call its löyly the softest. Plan for a chimney and about 45–60 min of heat-up.

What's the best wood-burning sauna stove built in the USA?
Only three American makers we found sell a wood sauna stove on its own with a price. Kuuma's Classic Legacy carries a current UL 1482 listing, and that's why it's our pick.
