Are Finnleo saunas made in the USA?
Finnleo builds its NorthStar saunas in Minnesota and puts a heater from Finland inside. Its other lines carry no build location, so ask the dealer.
Some Finnleo saunas are made in the USA. Finnleo says its NorthStar freestanding saunas are built in Minnesota by its own builders, and it calls Cokato, where it started in 1984, the home of its American manufacturing. The heater inside comes from Finland, by Finnleo's own account, and the company doesn't say where its spruce grows or where its infrared cabins are built. We read Finnleo's product and company pages, a dealer's price list and Masco's 2023 results, which record its purchase of Finnleo's parent company.
Finnleo builds the NorthStar in Minnesota
The NorthStar is the line Finnleo puts its name to. Its NorthStar page says the rooms are built in Minnesota by Finnleo's own builders, and the 4' x 6' model's page calls it "Made in the USA". Each one is a freestanding room you set inside the house, with spruce walls and ceiling and benches of aspen or abachi.
Finnleo doesn't post prices and leaves selling to its dealers. The figures below come from one dealer, so a local quote may differ.

The heater and some of the wood come from abroad
Finnleo's about page says its saunas use heaters designed and built in Finland. The NorthStar 4' x 6' ships with a 4.5 kW Designer SL2 and the SaunaLogic2 control, and it needs a 240V, 30-amp circuit.
Finnleo calls the walls Nordic white spruce and names no country for the logs. Abachi, one of the two bench choices, is a West African hardwood. Pick the aspen benches if you'd rather keep the imported wood to the walls.
Finnleo doesn't say where its other lines are built
The about page calls Cokato the base of Finnleo's American manufacturing and adds that Sauna360, its parent, has plants in Sweden and Finland. It doesn't say which lines come from which plant. The infrared page gives no build location at all.
So the NorthStar is the only Finnleo line we'd call built in the USA on the maker's word. For a custom room, a Designer modular sauna or an infrared cabin, ask the dealer to show you where Finnleo says that model is built before you pay.
An American company owns Finnleo through a Finnish group
Finnleo is a division of Sauna360, a Finnish sauna and steam group whose history goes back to 1916, Finnleo says. Masco Corporation closed its purchase of Sauna360 for about €124 million in the third quarter of 2023, per Masco's results, and runs it inside its Watkins Wellness business.

Who should buy a NorthStar
Buy a NorthStar if you want a freestanding indoor room built in the US with a dealer nearby to install and service it, and your budget runs past $9,000. Plan on a 240V circuit, and on a floor underneath, since Finnleo doesn't include one.
If you want cedar, Baltic Leisure builds its 5 x 6 Silver Series in Oxford, Pennsylvania. Framing your own room saves money. Finlandia cuts its FPC56 precut package to your walls in Portland, Oregon, for about $3,500 less than a NorthStar of the same size, and its heater comes from Finland as well.
