Buyer's Guide
Which indoor sauna kits are made in the USA?
Buy Almost Heaven's Auburn for a cedar room built in West Virginia, or Finlandia's FPC56 if you'll frame the walls. Every room here heats with a Finnish heater.

Buy Almost Heaven's Auburn if you want a cedar room for two or three that stands on your existing floor. Almost Heaven builds it in Renick, West Virginia, and at a little under $4,600 with a 6 kW heater in the box, it's the cheapest ready-to-heat room we found. If you'd rather frame the room yourself, buy Finlandia's FPC56 precut package instead. We compared five makers that say on their own pages where they build their indoor saunas: Almost Heaven, Finnleo in Minnesota, Finlandia in Oregon, Baltic Leisure in Pennsylvania and Cedarbrook in Washington. We read their product pages and spec sheets and priced each room with its heater.
Five American indoor saunas fit in one table
These are the indoor saunas we list whose makers say where they build them, sorted by price. Each price includes the heater, so you're comparing rooms that are ready to wire.
| Sauna | Built in | Wood | Heater | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Almost Heaven Auburn (2–3) | Renick, WV | Red cedar from the US Northwest and Canada | 6 kW Harvia KIP | Freestanding room | $4,577 |
| Finlandia FPC56 (3) | Portland, OR | Clear western red cedar, region not named | 6 kW FLB60, built by Harvia in Finland | Precut package for your framed room | $6,468 |
| Cedarbrook 4x6 kit (3) | Woodinville, WA | Clear western red cedar, region not named | 6 kW Finlandia FLB-60, built by Harvia in Finland | Modular cedar panels | $9,340 |
| Finnleo NorthStar 4' x 6' (2–3) | Minnesota | Nordic white spruce, origin not stated | 4.5 kW Designer SL2, built in Finland | Freestanding room, floor not included | $9,499 |
| Baltic Leisure Silver Series 5x6 | Oxford, PA | Clear cedar inside, plywood outside | 6 kW Harvia KIP-60B | Prebuilt room | $13,246 |
List prices read Oct 10, 2026, before sales tax, freight and installation; the Auburn's was checked again Oct 31, 2026. Finnleo and Finlandia sell through dealers, so those two prices are dealers' (Leisure Concepts and SteamSaunaBath). Neither Almost Heaven nor Baltic Leisure says which country builds its Harvia heater.
Almost Heaven's Auburn is the room to buy
Almost Heaven's spec table lists the Auburn's country of origin as the USA, and the company builds it in Renick, West Virginia. The room seats two or three in red cedar, and its 6 kW Harvia KIP takes it to 194°F (90°C), Almost Heaven says. It stands on the hard floor you already have, so you can set it up in a finished basement without building walls.
The cedar crossed a border. Almost Heaven sources it from the US Northwest and Canada, and Harvia, the Finnish heater maker, has owned the company since 2018. Plan on a second outlet too, because the light plugs into 110V apart from the heater's 240V, 30-amp circuit. Shipping takes six to eight weeks, Almost Heaven says.

Finlandia's FPC56 is the precut kit to buy
A precut package is a box of cut lumber for a room you build. Finlandia cuts the FPC56 to your framing dimensions in Portland, Oregon, from clear western red cedar, and ships it with benches, a prehung glass door, floor tiles and a foil vapor barrier. The family that founded Finlandia in 1964 still owns it, per its 2024 brochure.
The framing and insulation are yours to do, so count a weekend or a contractor's bill on top of the dealer's price. The 6 kW FLB60 heater comes from Harvia in Finland, and Finlandia doesn't name the state or country its cedar grew in. The heater draws 25 amps, so it wants a 30-amp breaker on 10-gauge copper.

Cedarbrook builds its panels out of solid cedar
Cedarbrook's 4x6 kit arrives as finished panels 4 inches thick, with cedar framing, R-11 insulation and cedar siding on the outside, all built in Woodinville, Washington. There's no framing to do. Cedarbrook says the room reaches 170–195°F (77–91°C) in about 25 minutes, and a 6 kW Finlandia FLB-60 heater comes in the price.
Cedarbrook's kits page calls its saunas 100% made in America, and that needs a footnote. The FLB-60 is built by Harvia in Finland, per Finlandia's own brochure. The panels weigh up to 150 pounds each, so line up a second pair of hands. Cedarbrook only installs within about 100 miles of its shop and takes half the price as a deposit.

Finnleo's NorthStar comes with a dealer
Finnleo says it builds its NorthStar rooms in Minnesota, and the 4' x 6' model is a freestanding spruce room with a 4.5 kW heater that Finnleo builds in Finland, per its about page. SaunaLogic2 lets you start it from your phone. Finnleo sells only through dealers, so someone local delivers it and sets it up.
It costs about twice what the Auburn does, and the floor isn't included, so plan one that can take water from the bucket. Finnleo doesn't say where its Nordic white spruce grows. Masco, a Michigan company, owns Finnleo through the Finnish group Sauna360, and our Finnleo origin guide sorts out which of its lines come from Minnesota.

Baltic Leisure builds the walls in its shop
Baltic Leisure says it manufactures its saunas in Oxford, Pennsylvania, where the same family has run the business since 1970. The Silver Series 5x6 arrives as a prebuilt room with a clear cedar interior and a 6 kW Harvia KIP-60B heater that carries its own controls.
It's the most expensive room here. Baltic Leisure lists the same room as a Silver precut kit for $7,531, so by our math about $5,700 of the price pays for building the walls in the shop. Only the inside is cedar, since the outer walls are cabinet-grade plywood. The product page doesn't give the breaker size, so ask before your electrician quotes.

Every room here heats with a Finnish heater
None of these five indoor saunas ships with an American heater. Almost Heaven and Baltic Leisure fit Harvia models without saying which country builds them. Finnleo builds its own heater in Finland, and Harvia builds the Finlandia FLB that Finlandia and Cedarbrook both use.
If an American heater matters to you, ask the maker whether it will swap one in. Our guide to sauna heaters made in the USA covers the ones built here, and the heater size calculator checks that a swap still suits the room.
A precut kit costs less and asks for a weekend
A freestanding room like the Auburn or the NorthStar stands on your floor as delivered, and Cedarbrook's modular kit bolts together from finished wall panels. A precut package like the FPC56 lines a room you have to frame and insulate first.
Baltic Leisure's two Silver listings show the trade best, since they're the same room sold both ways and the precut one costs about $5,700 less. Choose precut if you're already finishing a basement and have the studs up. Choose a freestanding room if you rent or might move it.
Sun Home sells two indoor rooms from San Diego
Sun Home is an American company based in San Diego, and we list two of its traditional indoor saunas, the three-person Nova 3 and the Nova 6. Each listing carries a short note that Sun Home doesn't say where it builds the model. Both heat with a HUUM heater.

See the specifications and priceEvery indoor sauna here needs a 240V circuit
All five of these rooms hardwire to a 240V circuit with the heater on its own breaker, and four of the makers name 30 amps. An electrician runs it, and your town may want a permit for the work. Our wiring guide covers what the National Electrical Code asks for, and it's worth getting that quote before you order the room.
How we chose these saunas
We read each maker's own pages and Finlandia's 2024 brochure on Oct 10, 2026, and took prices for the two dealer-only brands from Leisure Concepts and SteamSaunaBath. The Auburn's price got a second read on Oct 31, 2026. A room earned a row in the table only when its maker states on its own site that it builds that room in the US. We counted brands by owner, and these five have five different owners. Owner reviews played no part here, and we asked the makers nothing beyond what they publish.
Common questions
- Which indoor sauna kits are made in the USA?
- Almost Heaven (Renick, West Virginia), Finnleo (Minnesota), Finlandia (Portland, Oregon), Baltic Leisure (Oxford, Pennsylvania) and Cedarbrook (Woodinville, Washington) all say they build indoor saunas in the US. Each one ships with a heater from a Finnish brand.
- What is a precut sauna kit?
- A precut sauna kit is a package of lumber cut to fit a room you frame and insulate yourself. Finlandia's FPC56 includes the cedar, benches, a prehung door, floor tiles, a vapor barrier and a 6 kW heater, cut in Portland, Oregon.
- Is a precut sauna kit cheaper than a prebuilt sauna?
- Yes. Baltic Leisure lists its 5x6 Silver room at $7,531 as a precut kit and $13,246 prebuilt, a gap of about $5,700, before you count your own framing and insulation.
- Are the heaters in American-made indoor saunas made in the USA?
- Not in the five indoor saunas we compared. Finnleo builds its heater in Finland, Harvia builds Finlandia's FLB heaters in Finland, and Almost Heaven and Baltic Leisure fit Harvia heaters without naming the factory country.
- Does an indoor sauna need a 240V circuit?
- A traditional indoor sauna with an electric heater does. The five American indoor saunas we compared all hardwire to a 240V circuit, and four of their makers name a 30-amp breaker.
